I bought this trike for my 2 year old son for basically two reasons: It's not plastic and It's beautiful. We just received it and assembled it a week ago and while assembling it(Which took no time at all) i did notice there were some deep scratches on the metal tubes that took some of the paint off, there were also minor dings that weren't really noticeable unless you were looking for them. The tires...well, that was my biggest fear considering the reviews. But I was pleasantly surprised when i opened the box and all three tires were properly inflated and they didn't look like they were bad quality rubber, Maybe schwinn has become aware of the issue with the tires and is fixing it?
